Improvements for 2018

Investment in both technology and skilled people are key to the success of our company, particularly within our in-house manufacturing facility. Read on to understand our Improvements For 2018.

Having built a multitalented team of highly skilled personnel, we are committed to an ongoing programme of continuous improvement. Our three most recent machinery acquisitions are an SCM Edge Banding Machine, a CNC Machine and a Vacuum Panel Lifter. This is all in order to ensure maintenance of the quality of our product and the ever-increasing need for shorter lead times on fast turnaround projects.

A new CNC Router is the very latest addition to our selection of wood-working machinery. This now gives us the capability to manage complex shape cutting in house and the ability to carry out large batch machining processes. In turn, our throughput time for each project is quicker, thus making the end product more cost-effective for you.

Processes such as machining sink cut-outs and drainer flutes in worktops are all completed as part of our in-house service and contribute to minimising waste and reducing install time on site.

The addition of a Vacuum Panel Lifter in the factory has negated the need for any manual handling of large panels and has reduced all our machining processes to a one-man operation. Whilst saving time this adds further efficiencies and enhances the Health and Safety of all operatives.

Metalworking is a key part of our current set-up, with all leg frames and benching frames produced in our own factory. For this, we utilise MIG and TIG welding equipment, various cutting, notching and finishing methods, and includes stainless steel fabrication.

Adopting LEAN manufacturing methods throughout the processes, to the final finishing of furniture, ensures capacity is maximised and kept consistent.

In addition to new technology, we have also invested in additional members of staff over the past 2 years. This includes a dedicated Materials Manager, whose knowledge of the wood derivative sheet material industry has proven very beneficial to the company by introducing new products, sourcing the best quality materials, and ensuring we can continually offer competitive pricing to all of our clients.

We are committed to attracting and retaining talent as part of our Improvements For 2018 – if you think you have what it takes to join our enthusiastic and passionate team, please contact us today with a copy of your CV.
