Implementation

Benchmark delivered a full project management service, coordinating design, manufacture, and installation to create functional, safe, and inspiring learning spaces. Key focus areas included accessibility, safety, hygiene, workflow efficiency, and bespoke design tailored to specialist areas. All works were completed on schedule with full compliance to client specifications.

Our Solution:

  • Safety & Durability: Worktops in engineering, land management, and laboratory areas were constructed from 16mm and 25mm Trespa TopLab BASE and laminated MDF, with bevelled and polished edges to ensure robust, safe surfaces. Powder-coated steel frames, cantilever supports, and plinth subframes guaranteed stability and compliance with educational safety standards.
  • Accessibility & Inclusivity: Adjustable support legs and ergonomic workstations ensured all students, including those with mobility challenges, could engage comfortably. Open circulation zones and clearly defined work areas improved navigation and accessibility across the facility.
  • Hygiene & Practicality: High-performance surfaces in engineering, CAD, and creative labs provided easy cleaning and chemical resistance. Laboratory sinks, service spines, and cable management solutions supported practical functionality while maintaining hygienic standards.
  • Secure Storage: Bespoke base units, drawer systems, and storage units offered secure and organised spaces for equipment and teaching resources. Plinth subframes and lockable cabinets enhanced safety and order in specialist areas.
  • Aesthetic & Environment: Colour-coordinated laminated worktops and finishes contributed to a calm and structured learning environment, supporting focus, creativity, and engagement across diverse educational spaces.
