St Michael’s V.A. Junior School

Project Brief

With the area being a main thoroughfare, we needed to ensure that flow was maintained whilst creating quiet spaces for children to read.

Our Approach

Included within our design proposal were the creation of curved shelving to follow the contour of the walkways, plus the utilisation of different height shelving to reduce disturbances from the busy corridor, thus creating the quiet reading spaces. All furniture was manufactured in white to create a clean feeling and increase the feeling of spaciousness, complimented with splashes of lime green upholstery and decorations.

The Result

A fully functional and vibrant library space within a busy corridor area, incorporating storage, bespoke library shelving and booth seating areas.
